John Chu
I majored in Marketing with a minor in advertising at Virginia Commonwealth University. I started working in Instructional Design at Yukon Learning as a Learning Specialist and then as a Learning Consultant. After Yukon Learning, I went on to join SocialCode as the Instructional Designer then the Senior Instructional Designer. From SocialCode, I joined Braze as the Instructional Designer. After a year, I became Braze’s Digital Education Manager. After another year, I switched teams at Braze and became an Associate Product Marketing Manager.
While my time at Braze has been wonderful, I realized the lucky position I was in and decided to take some time off to recharge my batteries and really focus on what drives me.
When not in a pandemic, you can find me either in a basketball gym or in a boxing ring (really you can find me on the train because of the amount of time I spend traveling to basketball courts).
My motto is that I’m running out of time so I’ve got to do as much as I can.
I’m a person that believes that they can do anything they set their mind to, usually without much consideration. Some pursuits that I’ve attempted/am attempting are:
Building my own bed (✓)
Muscle ups (✓)
Making my own rug (tried and failed lol)
Pressing to handstand (working on it!)
Learning Japanese (working on it!)
Sewing my own clothes
Writing a book about basketball
